When was the last time you felt truly alive?
Today, I feel truly wholesome. I took a leave from work to focus on two important things: obtaining my driving license and completing the final test for my IELTS preparation class.
The day started as usual at 7:30 AM. While my father kindly took my son to school, I headed to the police bureau to handle my driving license documents. Although I faced a few hurdles in completing the paperwork, I managed to get everything done by 9:30 AM. Unfortunately, I didn’t pass the theoretical exam this time. Despite that, I decided to keep my spirits up and grabbed brunch at a small warung nearby.
Next, I went straight to my IELTS preparation class for the final test. Time management, especially in the reading section, was a real challenge. It was exhausting to focus on texts that were difficult to comprehend, but I pushed through and completed the test. After nearly three hours in the exam room, I finally stepped out and headed to the canteen for lunch.
Meeting my classmates in person after the test was a refreshing change. We had casual conversations that went beyond our usual classroom interactions, and it felt great to connect on a deeper level. After the chitchat, I managed to complete some work and then met with a colleague during an unexpected downpour. Thankfully, I arrived safely at my colleague's office around 3 PM, despite the heavy rain.
Our conversation turned into a casual chat about both work and life, which was a welcome break from our usual work-related discussions. By late afternoon, I had to head home, braving the rain, to spend time with my son.
For the first time in a while, I was able to sit down with him before 6 PM. We spent the evening together drawing, his latest favorite hobby, until 7 PM.
Today, I felt fulfilled because I broke out of my regular routine, tackled some significant tasks, and met new people along the way. It reminded me that fortune isn’t always about material wealth; it’s about the blessings we encounter in various forms.
